73544 Twentynine Palms Highway.

After scoping out potential locations in all the Mojave Desert communities, the right spot for the Desert General store was found in downtown Twentynine Palms, at the intersection of two busy streets, across the city’s brand-new multi-purpose Community Center and the Joshua Tree National Park’s recently inaugurated Cultural Center, and at walking distance from Starbucks.

The selected 1,000-sq ft retail space is located inside a renovated single-level building with five stores in total, ranging from 400 to 800 square feet.

The building was designed with an emphasis on important details such as outside wall openings, wide enough to let tenants create an attractive and well-designed shop window – the main channel of communications with passers-by. This property is the first retail-centric project by a group of local entrepreneurs who have found inspiration in the desert.

The 8ft high ceilings with visible beams and the wood floor will provide a calm and warm environment, very different and unique compared to other general stores, boasting a relaxed shopping atmosphere that is not focused on simply selling products but also focused on creating strong connections with customers.

With its backyard patio, Desert General will also provide a great setting with plenty of visibility and customer-facing options for partner brands and pop-up events.
